Dialogue box “Imaging scale/time interval” is opened with menu “Edit \ Scale & time” in the start window. It is used to determine the imaging scale and time interval for PIV recording evaluation. The imaging scale can be input by three ways: (1) inputting field of view, (2) inputting ruler resolution, and (3) inputting calculated image-to-object ratio. The unit of the physical length can be set as mini-meters or inches.

Field of view edit boxes

Definitions:
(
X0,Y0) - Coordinates of the lower-left corner of the field of view;
(
X1,Y1) - Coordinates of the top-right corner of the field of view.

Functions:
When
X0 is changed, X1 changes accordingly with fixed imaging scale;
When
Y0 is changed, Y1 changes accordingly with fixed imaging scale;
When
X1 is changed, the imaging scale is recalculated, and Y1 changes accordingly;
When
Y1 is changed, the imaging scale is recalculated, and X1 changes accordingly.

Ruler image edit boxes

Definitions:
Reading on ruler - Physical length on the ruler;
Corresponding pixels - Number of pixels on the digitized image of the ruler.

Functions:
When one of the two values is changed, the imaging scale is recalculated.

Edit box “Img/obj ratio [pix/m/]”

It is used to directly input the imaging scale with unit of pixel per meter.

Edit box “Time interval [mu-s]”

It is used to input the time interval between PIV exposures with unit of microsecond.

Radio box “mm” and “inch”

They are used to switch metric and English system for the length unit.

Button “2P calibration”

When two calibration markers are selected in “Evaluation” window with menu “Tools \ Calibration markers \ Individual search”, the imaging scale can be determined by pressing this button.

Button “OK”

The changes are accepted by pressing “OK” button.

Button “Cancel”

The changes are ignored by pressing “Cancel” button.
