Dialogue box  “Creating file list“ is constructed for generating digital image and vector data file lists for group evaluation of PIV recordings and statistical analysis of vector maps. Details are described below:

Generating image group file list

1.   Press button “Input files” to search for PIV image files and selecting one of the PIV image file. The path and extension name of the PIV images are shown in the read-only edit box on the right of the button. At the same time, a default output file with extension name “LIS” is shown in the read-only edit box on the right of button “Output file“.

2.   Press button “Output files” to find a desired folder in the hard disk and give a name to the image file list with extension “LIS”.

3.   Select the recording type required for the PIV image file list according to the descriptions in section “I/O files”.

4.   Press button “Create list” to generate the image group file list.

Integrate image group file lists

1.   Press button “Input files” to search for list files of PIV image groups with extension “LIS” and selecting one of the file. The path and extension name of the data file is shown in the read-only edit box on the right of the button. At the same time, a default output file with extension name “LIS” is shown in the read-only edit box on the right of button “Output file”.

2. Press button “Output files” to find a desired folder in the hard disk and give a name to the new image file list with extension name “LIS”.

3. Selecting the recording type as
Type 1 - Simply add all the selected file lists to make a new one,
Type 2 - Add the first halves of the selected file lists to make a new one,
Type 3 - Add the second halves of the selected file lists to make a new one.

4.   Press button “Create list” to generate the new image group file list.

Generating vector data file list

1.   Press button “Input files” to search for PIV displacement/velocity vector data files with extension “DAT” and selecting one of the data file. The path and extension name of the data file is shown in the read-only edit box on the right of the button. At the same time, a default output file with extension name “TSK” is shown in the read-only edit box on the right of button “Output file”.

2.   Press button “Output files” to find a desired folder in the hard disk and give a name to the data file list with extension name “TSK”.

3.   Press button “Create list” to generate the data file list.

Additional information

- Radio button “Recording” - Used to select recording type as below:
1- Double exposures
2- Pairs of single exposures (e.g. 0.bmp–1.bmp, 2.bmp–3.bmp, 4.bmp–5.bmp,...)
3- Consecutive single exposures format 1 (e.g. 0.bmp–1.bmp, 1.bmp–2.bmp, 2.bmp–3.bmp,...)
4- Consecutive single exposures format 2 (e.g. 0.bmp–1.bmp, 0.bmp–2.bmp, 0.bmp–3.bmp,...)
5- Stereo PIV recording group with single exposed image pairs. Each recording includes two pairs of single-exposed PIV images for the left and right camera, respectively (e.g. first stereo PIV recording in the list: 0.bmp and 1.bmp – image pair for left camera, 2.bmp and 3.bmp – image pair for right camera)

- Check button “CD/DVD” - Checked when the images are saved in CD or DVD;

- Radio buttons “Skip recording” - Used to reduce image numbers in the generated file list.
